Before founding Madrock Advisors, Matt was the President of the Development Division of Connexion Technologies, a fast-growth communications infrastructure company.  While at Connexion, Matt and his team of 150 employees grew revenues 542% from $8M to $45M, and negotiated and managed $110M of debt financing with three bank groups.  Prior to Connexion, Matt was VP and General Counsel for Madison River Communications where he managed MRC's legal department; negotiated and led ten telecom acquisitions; and managed a $400M initial public offering, a $200M public bond offering, a $525M syndicate debt financing and the $830M sale of the company to CenturyTel. Previously he served as Assistant General Counsel at the Rural Telephone Finance Cooperative in Herndon, VA; General Counsel at Integrated Financial Solutions in Bethesda, MD; and Counsel for the Subcommittee on Financial Institutions for the US House of Representatives.

Matt earned his BS in Business Administration from Boston University, and Juris Doctor from American University, Washington College of Law.  He is a member of the Connecticut, District of Columbia and New York Bar Associations.

Susan has over 25 years of experience in the banking, education, and non-profit sectors.  Before joining Madrock Advisors, Susan was the Admissions Director at the Lerner School, where she designed the school's website and created innovative marketing recruitment and retention programs.  Before Lerner, Susan taught fourth grade at Germantown Elementary School and was a commercial real estate lender and strategic planning officer at Citizens Bank of Maryland.

Susan actively volunteers with several area non-profit organizations, and serves on the boards of LIFE Skills Foundation, Urban Ministries of Durham, and the Durham Literacy Center, where Susan served as board chair for four years.  Susan is also active in the Jewish community, where she previously served on the Lerner School board and, for nine years, chaired the Jewish Federation's Mitzvah Day, an annual day of service where over 500 volunteers serve over 25 local non-profits.

Susan earned her BS in Business Administration with a double major in Marketing and Psychology from American University, and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Johns Hopkins University.

Matt Springer of Madrock Advisors has served Symphony on several occasions with great competency and superb results. In these days of single competency experts, it is a real pleasure to work with such a broadly-based expert as Matt. Not only does he have access to numerous financial resources with creative structures, but his grasp of the legal and accounting issues related to financial transactions is second to none.

Add to these two capabilities, Matt is the best negotiator I know. We feel extremely confident placing our interests in Matt’s hands, knowing that he will bring home the best deal possible."
